Kendra is an enthusiastic hip hop, ballet, Jazz and musical theatre dance instructor. She has been dancing with Woodstock Cooperative Dance School for many years and is a graduate of our dance program. Kendra has completed Grades 1 to 8 Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) ballet exams and has successfully achieved the level of RAD Elementary Dance. Kendra is a graduate of St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario, from the Early Childhood Education program. She has experience with assisting children with special needs. Kendra also worked at Camp Kintail (summer camp) as a dance director where she choreographed many dance presentations. Kendra’s volunteer and work experiences have provided her with the leadership skills required to now develop and administrate her own dance day camps. Kendra is also a gymnastics coach for the Woodstock Gymnastics Club and has completed many gymnastics certification courses. Her passion is working with children and dancing.
Reta began dancing at six years old. Primarily, she was introduced to step dance classes. Reta continues to be a dance student at the Woodstock Co-operative Dance School as well as a step/tap instructor to our junior dancers. Beside step dance, she has taken various disciplines of dance such as hip hop, jazz and lyrical. In addition to her studies at WCDS, she has also taken 1 year of private Step Dance lessons and competed in competitions. Reta has performed for recreational purposes. She has performed step dancing for the Canterbury festival, the Western fair, and various events in Drumbo She has been a teacher’s assistant to previous instructors at WCDS. She has volunteered as a class helper in Kendra’s hip hop classes. Reta is excited to be part of the Woodstock Co-operative Dance School team. And is excited for what this year has to hold with recital and other events. She is passionate about teaching step dance to the students.
Julie has been teaching at Woodstock Cooperative Dance School for many years. She teaches a collection of different dance disciplines including ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, hip hop and musical theatre. Her classes are offered to junior, intermediate, senior and adult ages. Julie was trained at Judith Coleman’s Oxford School of Dance for 11 years, achieving Intermediate level for Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and Premier Award for British Association of Teachers of Dance (BATD) and Grade 6 level for RAD ballet. She achieved the Silver Certificate for BATD in jazz. Julie also trained for many years in lyrical, hip hop and modern, ballet pointe and jazz. As a dance student, Julie was also a mentor and teacher’s assistant in ballet for 3 years. Julie has a passion for teaching her dance students and continues to mentor young students as they grow in dance.
